This Season's Tree Varieties

Each year we have a set number of trees that are ready for market. Did you know it takes 7-8 years to grow a Christmas tree to marketable size? It's true!

In 2025 we will be cutting on the north side of the road about 700 yards from our main barn lot. The distance is further away than previous years. We will be asking all customers to ride a wagon out to the tree field and back up to tree processing this year. There will be Scotch Pine, White Pine and Canaan Fir trees to choose from to cut. We will also have Fraser Fir, a few Nordmann Fir, Concolor Fir, and our farm grown Canaan Fir trees to choose from our pre-cut lot for those who prefer to not go out to the field to cut a tree.

Even though we weren't able to grow some of these trees on the farm we guarantee they have the Dull's Tree Farm seal of approval! We believe we have a good amount of trees on the farm. Our biggest issue with supply this year will be height. We will have a few taller trees on the farm this year but we won't have a big inventory of tall trees to cut from the field in for 2025. If you wish to receive a tree 11' or taller, email info@dullstreefarm.com When you cut your tree this year, you will see how we have expanded our acres of trees. We hope to be a location for your family to make Christmas memories for years to come!

- Live Balled Christmas Trees -

Ever wished you could keep your Christmas tree year round? You can!

You must realize the limitations and special care necessary for your live, balled Christmas tree.

To keep your balled tree alive, there are important limitations, and special care is necessary. A balled tree (one that is dug up by the roots and wrapped in burlap for replanting) can only be in the house for a maximum of 5 days. You must also help the tree acclimate to the temperature change by warming it up over a 2-3 day period as you bring it into the house and then again, cooling it back down as you take it back outside. Perhaps you have a garage or similar storage area with a moderate temperature that is somewhere between the outdoors, and your living room.

Plant it as soon as possible, and yes, it will need to be watered. A balled tree is very heavy to maneuver in the house, but there are ways to handle it.

We dig our balled trees only on order, so please call a few days ahead, or come and choose your tree and we will call you to come back a few days later to pick it up.

Available in White Pine or Canaan Fir. $30/foot. 5' foot and under only.

Order your balled and burlap tree today by calling (765) 325-2418 and asking for Tom or emailing tom@dullstreefarm.com!

Plan Ahead for Opening Day 2026: “Reserve a Ride” Overview

To help make Opening Day smoother and more enjoyable, we introduced the “Reserve a Ride” timed wagon ticket in 2025. This system helped reduce long lines during our busiest hours—especially from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. As we prepare for the 2026 season, here’s what you need to know so you don’t miss out.

What Is the “Reserve a Ride” Ticket?

A “Reserve a Ride” ticket is similar to a theme-park fast pass. Guests select a 30-minute wagon time slot to ride to the tree fields on Opening Day. This helps keep lines shorter and the experience more relaxed.

How It Worked in 2025 (and what to expect for 2026):

  • Opening Day: Friday after Thanksgiving
  • Ticket Price: $5 per person
  • Your Fee Becomes a Credit: The ticket cost was applied toward your tree purchase (example: 2 tickets = $10 credit).
  • Timed Slots: Every 30 minutes throughout the day
  • Tickets Released: Mid-October via our e-newsletter and social media

We expect a similar process for 2026—be sure to sign up for updates so you know the exact release date.

Who Needs a Ticket?

A “Reserve a Ride” ticket is required for anyone planning to cut a tree from the field on Opening Day. We are not allowing walking to the tree field. It creates lines out in the tree field instead of up around restrooms, food options, and areas to sit.

You do NOT need a ticket if you are:

  • Buying a pre-cut tree
  • Visiting the farm to shop the Wreath Barn or Trading Post, explore, or enjoy activities without riding the wagon

Bringing a Dog?

Dogs are welcome at the farm with a leash and good manners, but dogs are not allowed on wagons.

If you bring your dog:

  • Someone in your group must walk with the dog to the field and back (about 1 mile round-trip).
  • Trees must return to checkout on a wagon accompanied by a person—please plan accordingly.

If You Don’t Have a Ticket

Walk-up wagon seats were available in 2025, but wait times—especially in mid-afternoon—were significantly longer. For 2026, we strongly recommend reserving your ride ahead of time.

Other 2025 Options (Likely to Return in 2026)

  • Pre-Cut Tree Weekend (Weekend Before Opening Day): Early access to shop the pre-cut lot by reservation.
  • Tall Tree Requests (11' & Up): Advance form required; orders closed October 30.

These options may return for 2026—updates will be shared in the fall.

Why We Use “Reserve a Ride”

Our farm continues to grow along with our visitors. With expanding acreage and increased demand for wagon rides, timed tickets help create a better, less crowded, more enjoyable experience for all families—especially during peak hours.

We appreciate your support as we make improvements to ensure your visit stays memorable and stress-free.
